*laughs* Well, the topic IS about sunburns, so I'd say it's good. lol Actually, while we're on the [correct] subject... my sunburns take forever to clear up. I finally got over a bad one I got at an amusement park (Physics class trip ). But just today I think my neck and shoulders burnt again. We were shooting footage for our Kung Fu/Matrix spoof (final project for Video 101) and I completely forgot to put sunscreen on. Again. At least it's not as bad this time. Aloe Vera seems to work very well for sunburns, but I don't like the feeling of it drying on my back, so I only use it if the burns are really bad.

de·scribe ( P ) Pronunciation Key (d-skrb) tr.v. de·scribed, de·scrib·ing, de·scribes To give an account of in speech or writing. To convey an idea or impression of; characterize: She described her childhood as a time of wonder and discovery. To represent pictorially; depict: Goya's etchings describe the horrors of war in grotesque detail. To trace the form or outline of: describe a circle with a compass.
I do not see how I was describing anything...
getting off that...
a little tip... don't buy Aloe Vera from the store, if your skin is very sensitive... definitely don't use the lotion kind. Aloe is better when it's fresh and doesn't have all the icky chemicals in it... I wouldn't reccomend such evils even for unsensitive skin... chemicals are for deadly diseases, not light sunburns. if it's 3rd degree, and a qualified and highly trained licensed physician says it's okay, then and ONLY then should put any kind of anything on a 3rd degree burn. can't stress that enough, people have prolonged healing by putting stuff on such a burn... Vinegar is good for easing burn's incredible pain, if you can stand the smell(which I generally cannot) ;D my parents used to Vinegar me when I got sunburnt, it felt better, but I'd rather endure the pain than the smell...

Actually raw aloe is HARSHER strait from the plant. Most of what the stores do to Aloe Vera is dilute it. It’s a case of a little is good a lot can be bad. The lotion ones are fine as long as it's a surface burn and not an open blister. And if you have a 3rd degree burn you are likely in the hospital not shopping for burn-remedies at the local grocery store. A second degree burn blisters. A third degree burn the skin actually chars and/or melts. If you have charring go directly to the emergency room do not pass go, no not collect 200 dollars. And yes I am certified in first aid, both by the Red Cross and the US army.

"a qualified and highly trained licensed physician" *Laughs* as apposed to seeing an unqualified, under trained and de-registered doctor I suppose. Yep I think that'd be a good move. (Yes I am kidding around no offense intended, you just reminded me about someone who told me you should never see a doctor if the plants in the waiting room are dead). Cold water works well for sunburns. Aloe vera's good too. Lavender is not bad either. (The "icky chemicals" are not always bad. Tell me you've never used a "chemical" antiseptic). And I'm with no_one on this, it dosen't matter how you put it White Raven the comments you posted about a certain part of your anatomy are still pointless .

I never said that wasn't pointless, just said it wasn't a description . honestly I am over that... I know what a 3rd degree is thank you. but if it's only a small area, then it isn't so bad... Just go see a doctor. if it is a large area, then yes you should ago to the emergency room, because you are probably going to need a skin graft.

*nods* I was referring to the lotion stuff in particular, but thanks, I didn't know that. I don't think I've ever seen anybody use it directly from the plant before, though my parents say they used to have an Aloe plant when I was younger. Either way, I should remember to put sunscreen on this time, because we're going out to get the rest of the footage for the video tomorrow. PS. If you're "over that" then please stop bringing it up. Don't try to get picky with the word, especially when the word was used correctly. By saying they might have shrunk, you're giving a presumable depiction and account of their size, and by doing so, you described them. Just because you don't go into elaborate detail doesn't mean you aren't describing something. Look at the first definition you posted. Okay? I'm telling you because you wanted clarifcation. "I do not see how I was describing anything..." Sure, a better word could have been used, but you still DID describe them. Also, if you really want to be picky, you should note that I never SAID you described them. I just said describing their size was pointless, which still remains true no matter how you look at it. Are we done? I don't like being nitpicky about insignificant matters.

"I thought you could only get it when you when to the beach!"
and I thought when wasn't a verb. umm you can get a sunburn anytime you are in the sun. that is why it is called a SUNburn *underlines SUN an infinite number of times* and on any unprotected part of your body(which is why being naked outdoors is bad) so make sure to wear SPF 999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 sunscreen when outdoors from now on...

where i live, the sun only comes out once in a while, we get rain. it would be funny if you could only get sunbrun on the beach, there'd be a huge line of light and heat all the way around the coast.

ottawa.ca/city_services/emergencyserv/ems/ems_1_8_7_en.shtmland 203.202.189.11/article.asp?ContentID=skin_cancer_and_ultraviolet_raYou do not have to be in direct sunlight to get sunburn because a light cloud layer does not reduce the UV rays to protect you completely. Also WhiteRaven: You've misspelled and misused so many words on so many different occasions that I feel that you have no right to point out someone else's mistake. I remember just recently having to inform you about that mysterious Backspace key that deletes the last character that you typed. And with that example, you didn't even have to use the backspace key because at the bottom of the Post Reply table, where the Post Reply, Preview, and Reset buttons are, there's a button that's labeled Spell Check. Check it out some time.

grr... 1. THE CAPS THING WAS A JOKE YOU LUGNUT!
2. IF YOU'RE REFERRING TO THE MARFIFO THING I ALWAYS SAY MARFIFO, IT'S MORE FUN TO SAY!
oh by the way, sometimes, when you type, this curious phenomenon occurs in which you might accidentally strike the wrong key. If you don't mind me saying, you've probably had quite a few typos as well. If not, then you probably type with one finger.

not that i myself mind, but some people don't like the caps lock button being used, its like shouting. so when someone asks not to you might as well listen. it makes for easier Reading, and also less hassle from people.
